Antique Silk Heriz

Description

This rare example from the Heriz weaving area is a graphic depiction of the subtle and manifest energies that animate our worlds, both inner and outer.  A prime example of the “tree of life”, this rug dates from the early to mid-nineteenth century.  In the main border are quatrains from the Sufi mystic, Hafiz.
